Line twist comes from uneven spool tension and improper bail closure. It compounds quietly over a session until the line coils, tangles, or loses casting distance altogether. By the time you notice it, the damage is already done.
Fix: Close the bail manually after every cast, and maintain constant tension during the retrieve. Never let slack enter the spool — that's where twist lives.
